Reverse Canvas Tassel Tree Sign

This cute and easy-to-make reverse canvas tassel tree sign is the perfect addition to your holiday decor.

  • Dollar Tree 8 x 10 Canvas
  • Waverly Ink Chalk Paint (or whatever black paint you have on hand)
  • Scissors
  • Paintbrush
  • Green and White Cotton string from Dollar Tree
  • Hot Glue Gun
  1. Start by removing the canvas from the wooden frame. I used the scissors to raise one of the staples out and then just started tugging at the canvas and it come off easily.

  2. Trim the excess off of the canvas so that it will not show on the sides once glued on.

  3. Using the Waverly ink chalk paint, paint the wooden frame. I only needed one coat.

  4. Next to start making your tassels, Wrap the green and white string around your fingers about 15 times, (more if you want it to be fluffier). Cut at the end.

  5. Then cut a piece about 4 inches long and tie this around the tassel a little bit from the top.

  6. Next cut the bottom of the tassel so the pieces are not attached and are flowing. Repeat this process to make 13 tassels

  7. Next hot glue the canvas (the tan side) facing the inside of the wooden frame, to the frame.

  8. Next using the hot glue gun, glue 6 tassels to the bottom section, 4 on top of that, then 2, and then the top tassel to form a tree. ( I laid them out before I glue them to trim some of them, to give it a cleaner look).
